Tragedy struck the world on November 13, 2015 when the news broke that the ancient city of Paris, France was under a series of attacks. Terrorists lead serial events which all took place in Paris on November 13, beginning in the city’s northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at approximately 9 pm, three suicide bombers made the first attack outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during a football game. After that came several mass shootings and another suicide bombing, at cafés and restaurants throughout the city. Gunmen performed another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert in the Bataclan theatre, which eventually lead to a stand off with the Parisian police.

In the end, 130 total people were killed, and the attackers were either shot or committed suicide upon police infiltration. To honor all of the victims and lives lost during the attacks, Paris lit up the Eifel Tower on November 18, 2015, just a few days after the terrorism struck their city.
