People in Sri Lanka, who were related to a victim, grieved outside a morgue following the deathly attacks in Colombo, Sri Lanka. More ethan 200 people were killed, and more than 400 reported to be injured following attacks on churches and hotels on Easter Sunday – April 21. Officials said that it was the worst attack on the country since the civil war ended 10 years ago. Included in the victims were TV Chef Shantha Mayadunne and her daughter Nisanga. Nisanga’s friend, Radha Fonseca, 34, spoke up about her friend from college. “Nilanga was a very popular girl in college,” Radha told Gulf News. “Besides the fact that she was bright and smart, her mother Shantha Mayadume, a renowned chef, made her more popular in college. [Shantha] was well-respected and an inspirational chef for Sri Lankans.” Radha continued, “Destiny has taken away both of them. I am devastated.” Our thoughts are with the victims and families of those affected by the horrific attacks.
