Taraji P. Henson and former NFL player (and Super Bowl XLI champion) Kelvin Hayden dated for two years before she confirmed their romance in an interview in December 2017. The couple, who is private about their relationship, got engaged in May 2018. Kelvin popped the question after he gifted Taraji with a Cartier bracelet on Mother’s Day. ‘He started with the Cartier love bracelet BUT that was my #Mothersday gift and then he dropped to his knee and I almost passed out!!!,’ Taraji captioned a photo of her circular diamond ring on Instagram. Adding several emojis, she wrote, “ #sheisofficiallyoffthemarket and she is sooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!! #GODIS.’ In the background of the image, a dessert plate with cake and chocolate covered strawberries had a message that read, ‘Congratulations.’ Taraji and Kelvin may tie the knot on April 4, 2020, as seen in the hashtag of a collage of photos she shared of the two on August 11, 2019.
